Hello,

My name is Dr. Pulido and I’m A Mayo clinic trained family medicine physician who is taking his precious time in the middle of a pandemic to write a complaint about the sunset water sports company. The last couple years have been really rough with this pandemic and the ability for my wife and I to spend some quiet time on the water is a very rare and special thing. For my birthday my wife surprised me with a vacation to Key West which is one of my favorite places on the planet. We rented a boat from Sunset Water Sports which at first glance local like your typical overused rental boat. We really didn’t care about the aesthetics and we just wanted to get out on the water for some snorkeling. As we were leaving the marina we had to go through roughly a 1 mile area through the canals for a no wake zone. During this time I noticed that the acceleration lever was loose and that you had to literally hold it in place at all times. It was quite annoying but did not stop our trip. Once we got into open water and accelerated anywhere above seven knots the motor would cavitate and you would lose control of the boat. This was very scary for my wife and I and we decided to immediately return the boat. To be frank I was very upset about the opportunity lost and just wanted to go back to my hotel room. It was at that time that I was berated by the rental manager who wanted me to stay another hour so that the mechanic could take a look and possibly fix the boat. I had to tell her multiple times to leave me alone and that it was her job to fix the boat not mine. She even followed me out to the parking lot where my wife had to intervene and ask her to please just go away. For the pleasure of this entire encounter we were charged $570. This did not surprise me one bit. The manager of this location was extremely unprofessional and seemed hung over to me. In my opinion I would not trust any part of your vacation to this company or any other services. They look like the type of people who prey on nice tourists and who frankly don’t give a damn about customer service or apologizing when they’re wrong. Thanks
